Eligibility Requirements
Applicants should:
- Maintain active AAMA certification and membership in good standing
- Hold appropriate professional licensure or doctoral-level education
- Demonstrate a minimum of five years of professional or clinical practice
- Document continuing education and professional development
- Demonstrate leadership, teaching, research, publishing, mentorship, or professional service
- Submit a professional statement describing their contributions to the profession
All Fellow applications are individually reviewed by the AAMA Board and conferred at its discretion.
Professional Statement
Applicants are asked to submit a professional statement (approximately 600 words) describing:
- Their professional journey
- Clinical experience
- Leadership roles
- Teaching or mentorship
- Publications or research
- Continuing education
- Contributions to advancing integrative and alternative medicine
- Vision for the future of the profession
The professional statement allows the Board to evaluate each applicant’s long-term commitment and overall contribution to the field.
Fellow Status & Active Membership
The FAAMA designation is an advanced credential added to your existing AAMA Board Certification.
Fellow status remains active through continued AAMA membership in good standing.
Active membership allows AAMA to:
