AAMA Fees & Pricing

The American Alternative Medical Association (AAMA) maintains a transparent fee structure for certification, annual membership, and related professional services.

To become an active AAMA practitioner, there are two components:

  • Board Certification (one-time) — your professional credential
  • Annual Membership (recurring) — maintains your active status and professional standing

How Certification & Membership Work

Board Certification is a lifetime credential that reflects your qualifications at the time it is awarded.

Annual Membership maintains your status as an Active Member in Good Standing, allowing AAMA to verify your current professional standing and provide access to professional benefits, resources, and directory inclusion.

Important

Board Certification is a lifetime credential.

Annual membership is what keeps your professional standing active, current, and verifiable within the association.

Practitioner Eligibility

AAMA certification is intended for doctoral-level and licensed practitioners in alternative and complementary medicine disciplines.

This distinction helps preserve the advanced professional standing of AAMA members and differentiates AAMA from broader practitioner associations.

Membership Lapse & Reinstatement

If your annual membership lapses, your Board Certification remains part of the AAMA record; however, you are no longer considered an Active Member in Good Standing.

To restore active status, membership must be renewed.

Reinstatement Guidelines

Reinstatement requirements may vary based on how long membership has been inactive:

Less than 3 years

  • Renew annual membership

3 to 10 years

  • Renew annual membership
  • Attest to continued professional activity
  • Provide 12 hours of continuing education (self-reported)

Over 10 years

  • Renew annual membership
  • Provide updated professional credentials
  • Provide 24 hours of continuing education (past 24 months)
  • Reaffirm agreement with the AAMA Code of Ethics
  • Applications may be subject to Board review

There are no reinstatement fees. Requirements are designed to ensure continued professional alignment and ethical standards.

Related Professional Association

AAMA serves doctoral-level practitioners in alternative medicine.

Practitioners seeking certification through a broader holistic and drugless practitioner association may also wish to explore the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP), a related organization serving a wider professional range.
